I dug a very deep hole for myself with my alcoholism and addiction.  One I couldn’t get out of on my own.  Believe me, I had tried.  The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  That also defined me.  I toId myself many times; “I can quit after one“, “I’ll just do this on weekends”, “I’ll just finish this, then I’ll be done.”  No matter what I did or said, I couldn’t stop. I learned from Rhonda and The Right Step in Wimberley, Texas how to turn my life around so I didn’t need to use or drink.  I was taught how to make the changes in my life such that sobriety became my lifestyle, not just something I did on the side.  Rhonda helped me understand my whole person needed to heal, and how to do that. With the help of Rhonda and The Right Step, I am a different person today.  I am happier than I’ve ever been.  I have serenity in today and an overall peace about my life.  I have a positive attitude and outlook on life.  I no longer have the need or desire to use any mind altering substance to change the way I think or feel.  Life doesn’t get any better than this. - Karla K.

We started at The Right Step NW in Oct. 02007, a little over 3 years ago, when our youngest son (then 13 yrs. old) was addicted to drugs.  He has been sober ever since.  He is an athlete and has been on Honor Role for 2 years.  My Wife and I continue to come to Family night because we get so much out of it.  Dr. Rhonda has allowed us to mentor others in the group.  As for me, I am a recovering alcoholic – sober for 13 years.   However, I found other issues in life and The Right Step NW is helping me.The Right Step NW provides a safe place where addicted people can come and help each other attain and maintain sobriety.  The Right Step NW not only offers the tools and training to remain sober but also helps develop spirituality essential to life. - Ross J.

Dr. McBride is the most caring, compassionate person I ever had the pleasure to be associated with. Her understanding of the human psyche, addictive behavior, and why we do what we do goes very deep. She refuses to give up on people, even ones who have a hard time slipping back into denial and rationalization. She is so centered as a person that one strives for that kind of balance in your own life. She is the very definition of love and caring combined with knowledge.- William P
